To the Coach that Changed the Game I Loved
Anhedonia
Is the loss
of interest and enjoyment,
in all activities one has once loved.
It is the feeling
of not caring anymore.
For me,
I have lost all interest and enjoyment
in the game of basketball,
the sport that once was my stress reliever.
And the only one I want to blame is my coach.
The coach who had no faith
or confidence in me.
The coach who never taught
ME to be better, as if I was going unnoticed.
The coach who only brought me down.
I have been playing this game I loved since I could walk,
and now
it is senior year.
And I don’t play,
I sit,
the bench.
As if I feel as useless as a pet rock.
Thanks for everything, coach.

I have been playing basketball all my life and now I have grown to hate it. I hate it most because of my coach that didn't believe in me.
