He controlled her every move
Not a penny to her name
Because he made all the money
She was not to do the same

All the times he lied to her
And she had no possessions
Now she must put up with
Every latest of his obsessions

While he never beat her
Things couldn't have been much worse
All the dreams she ever had
Were crushed by him with force

But she cared about her children
And just to see them grow
She put up with him throughout the years
Years that were filled with woe

She never once objected
Always thinking of them
All the while knowing
It's the only reason she won't leave him

The author's comments:
There are so many mothers out there, being abused, both physically and verbally. There are so many of them, yet none of them will speak out. Why? The children. Only a mother's love and sacrifice can explain why many of them won't leave.
