Impact
Its that exact second
When the car buckles into itself
The airbags release
When you think to yourself
“I hope I live”
But you can’t be sure
Because in that split second
You thought about your parents
A childhood memory
What you wished you wore
The lyrics to a song
Or maybe you passed out before thinking
A single thought
Each delicate fold of metal
Brings you closer to the brink
Of death?
Of insanity?
Of peace?
You can’t feel any pain
Not yet at least
For the aftermath is far worse
Than the impact
Each fracture in the windshield
Creates an array of fractals
Different lines of thought
But there is no way you could have prevented it
You didn't know that there would be destruction
That your life would
Change?
End?
All you see is water
