Summer
When I saw you,
Birds were singing
Their voices carrying us far away
on the gentle wings of the wind
Soaring high above the Earth.
When I saw you,
The dead leaves flew around the ground
like fairies dancing in celebration
of the new dawn, while the sun comes out
in the early minutes of the morning.
When I saw you,
The clouds gently parted,
A curtain opening to the amazing scene
of a blue sky, bathing the world
in a friendly glow.
And as they dragged you out of the river,
The birds still sang,
The leaves still danced,
The clouds still parted,
But you couldn’t see me.
