Ode to my Carpet
My knees get wobbly
I fall down flat
Only to be caught by my
Soft safety net
It feels like my bed
That travels
All around me
Its calm, soothing stroke
Makes me feels
At home
My carpet is like a
Third Parent
Brushing tears away
Taking my hand
And letting me rest on its shoulder
What this ode is truly about
Is not something you merely walk on
