Speranza
They've held me together for so long;
They've enabled me to live, to walk, to look, to breathe.
Their beautifully sown wreath clutched my insides.
They were the source of my ephemeral happiness.
They defined my amorphous soul.
They were the seed of my seemingly seamless flight.
They showed me worlds.
They let me be.
But they've broken me now-
Shattered my will.
They crept up on me while I was blinded by their luminescence.
They took my dreams apart.
So meticulously, so maliciously.
As if mine were the building blocks of others'.
Now they've left me staring into oblivion.
They've sucked me into an abysmal spiral.
They've sipped the light out of me.
But they still flicker; they glow a little.
They're insurmountable.
And I still believe.
Their refulgence will be unveiled, again.
They will mould me, again.
That glimmer of hope will not be lost.
These souls, these words-
They have their way.
