Every Moment
If I remember every moment,
Then I die everyday
I don’t wish to remember the vulgar explosion in the wasteland
I don’t wish to remember the cries of terror coming from our men
I don’t wish to remember my eyes witnessing only rivers of red
I don’t wish to remember the continuous bombing happening overhead
My hands draped lifeless pieces of once soldiers
The comfort of death kept creeping on my shoulder
I risked my being
For those on the unfriendly ground now screaming
The helicopters brash metal blades
Were forthcoming to help us contribute aid
The eyes of the motionless soldier pierced at me
My attention caught off by the now falling debris
I became the one trapped and helpless
All of my self became worthless
What seemed to happen in an instant
Haunts every second in every way
I remember every moment
Which causes me to die everyday
