3 stages
He is laying on the beach, happy,
with not a care in the world, relieved,
mind as clear as the blue sky, he stands,
walking into the ocean water with a big smile,
swimming freely, diving into every wave,
as each one comes crashing near the shoreline,
he is walking back to his room, pondering,
what it would be like to live here,
he enters the shower, washing the salt off,
from the murky yet warm water.
He packs his bags, last night, preparing
himself for the next day journey, expression
changed from upbeat to indifferent, knowing
that he must return to that dreadful, cold place,
He Sleeps
beep, beep, beep, the alarm rings, he arises
like the undertaker, loads the trunk of his car,
turning around, looking up, Till Next Time,
he sets the GPS's destination to 'home'
The road seems endless, he turns the radio on,
the only music that could satisfy his soul is
chill, or EDM, anything that will elevate his mood
He arrives at home, his face tan, tanner
than before, melancholy, exhausted,
realizes that the twenty-two hours of driving
was only the beginning of his work.
He unpacks his bags, settles back in, confused,
as he does not know where to begin,
multiple classes, multiple packets, multiple worksheets,
and only a few hours, frustrated,
as he knows he will not finish the absent work,
for at least a week. the stress kicks in as he sits,
picks up his pencil, checks the time,
speaks to himself "Lets Go".
