Procrastinating

As my work awaits me
the temptation fades
my interests become
distracting,
I don’t want to do this
my mind shifts away
to greater things,
anything that will occupy me from my work
time passes,
then it’s too late,
it’s 11:00 the night
before it’s due,
and I haven’t started
I have to chose between
sleep or good grades
I spent the night
struggling to stay awake
and finish
