One Thousand Lives
You ask me what I want to be
I answer
A historian
A scientist
A lawyer
An artist
A poet
A doctor
I want to be one thousand people at once and live in one thousand places at once
I want to feel one thousand emotions and have them crash onto me like a wave
I want to gaze upon one thousand stars and I want to wear one thousand dresses
I want to live one thousand different lives and tell one thousand different tales of every life I have lived, every person I've been
You pause
You ponder
And then you say
You have only one life, child
But with it, you can change one thousand lives
