Black Cherry Babe
Love is black cherry.
It sounds like two people chatting over dinner,
smiling as they thank God for each other while they eat.
It tastes like the way too eggy eggnog you share in bed together on snowy winter days and the little ice cream shop dates on steamy Sunday nights.
It smells like smelly farts in bed and burps all in your face
and the extra perfume put on before you leave for a movie,
just to impress what's already yours.
Love feels like coming home hopeless and crawling into a warm bed, looking at the smile of the person you love, and feeling invincible.
