A Monster(Type-Villanelle)
A big fish,in a little pond,
a behemoth among men,
yet losing a battle I thought I would have won
Men mocked my size and horns,
caged up, a beast roaring one day I would lay waste to their tiny land.
A big fish,in a little pond,
When I broke free I realised that their numbers were beyond
my comprehension, I thought them to be just tiny grains of sand,
yet losing a battle I thought I would have won.
I faced their massive numbers, trying hard to even respond,
thousands of earthworms against a helpless flightless wren.
A big fish,in a little pond,

After hearing the song "Monster" by Imagine Dragons, I thought I would like to create a poem about a monster too, to be submitted to my school as an assignment, but I wanted to show how the people who are not accepted by society tries to fight back but still loses.
