“I fell in love with him. But I don't just stay with him by default as if there's no one else available to me. I stay with him because I choose to, every day that I wake up, every day that we fight or lie to each other or disappoint each other. I choose him over and over again, and he chooses me.”

One windy October night,
as the bonfire is ending;
many are leaving.
Yet him and I
walk quickly
to the corner.
He knows he has to leave
soon.
The moonlight
shined bright,
blinding me.
Yet here he was
his arm wrapped
around my body
like vines, covering
each part.
As his mouth
spoke with vows.
Feeling as,
we were the only
two here.
I feel the ground,
caving into my feet.
Everything seems,
different.
Nothing can break this,
but as his
arms drift
like the memory
of that
night.

I really wanted to write this poem about a former crush of mine because it's showing how I'm moving on and not staying in the past anymore.

I like the detail, just a few minor grammar errors.
