Distant Memory
One windy October night,
as the bonfire is ending;
many are leaving.
Yet him and I
walk quickly
to the corner.
He knows he has to leave
soon.
The moonlight
shined bright,
blinding me.
Yet here he was
his arm wrapped
around my body
like vines, covering
each part.
As his mouth
spoke with vows.
Feeling as,
we were the only
two here.
I feel the ground,
caving into my feet.
Everything seems,
different.
Nothing can break this,
but as his
arms drift
like the memory
of that
night.
