I am just a kid
How can you tell me to act my age and yet you treat me like a little kid? Let me tell you something you might not know about this quote-un-quote kid. I was just 15 when my cousin got killed. He was murdered while he slept so some "kid" could get his fill. I knew it was ganna take some time for me to rebuild. It was the straw that broke the camels back, if you will. It made me grow up to fast. Trying to forget my past. Now I'm sitting in dead last, Trying to put my heart in a cast. So don't try to "correct" my behavior If you don't know my story. I'm just proud to tell you at least I have a story. Don't tell me to grow up if you don't know what I've been through. I've made it this far by listening to people like you, and I still managed to pull through. Then out of the blue comes another "standardized test" and it's called "people like you." It's the only test I've ever passed. But once we are free form this insanity called society, we can finally chase our dreams. Maturity is not based on age, after all age is just a number. But if age is just a number why does this "number" define who I am and what i do. In the end I'm still a human being aren't you? We were created to mirror our creator, Thus you look as godly as me, and I as you. I have blood that rushes through my veins don't you? I have a personality unique to me don't you? I have a heart that beats and a brain that thinks, don't you? Shhhh, don't talk just think. How can you tell me to act my age, and yet you still treat me like a little kid. Let me tell you something "kid" I want you to always remind yourself that I will never be more than just a "kid"
