Saying No to Gravity
It hard to think that on the back on at 1500 pound animal
 is where I find solace.
In fact it is the only state besides sleeping
 that my heartbeat is consistent.
The raspy snorts and pounding hooves
 are music to my ears.
 I am home.
 My horse is eager,
 waiting for commands.
 He is ready to go,
 he is seeing the jumps.
I am led to believe his own heart is steady
 and in sync with mine.
We are on the same page,
 horse and girl.
 When we start,
we are both caught up in our course.
 Three, two, one,
 and then I am flying.
