Nine Lives
A wild animal stood
In the corner
Blue flames emerged
From the beast’s eyes
Darkness stained the room
An old man appeared in the room
Bringing food and water
Trying to get the beast
To forgive him
The beast know
Not to trust him
The man broke the beast
Broke the beast of its spirit
Now he had the beast trapped
Like a fish in a net
But the man didn’t feel sorry
For the beast
Only hatred
Only hatred.
