The Four Elements in my Family
The Four Elements in my Family
My mother is the wind,
always there
but not always appreciated.
She pushes my sister and I
in the right direction,
a calm breeze guiding us through life.
My sister is a calm river
she doesn't always say much but,
when she does her words
come from the deepest part of the river.
She speaks only the truth
My father is earth,
one of the most important elements
in our family:
very powerful and grounding,
but also letting my sister and I
grow and change on our own
And I, the fire in the family,
draw people in
with my warmth and glow,
but sometimes the heat of my words
can burn.
