You can’t have it all but you can have a cozy blanket.
One that warms your heart as much as it does your skin.
One that is just as soft as it is warm.
A blanket maybe hand-stitched with love by your grandmother.
A blanket you really can’t live without.

You can’t have it all but you can have hot chocolate.
Not too hot that one sip burns every last tastebud on your tongue,
But not too cold that it doesn’t live up to its name.
Hot chocolate maybe dashed with cinnamon, vanilla, cream, or mint.
Hot chocolate that makes the winter season all worth it.

You can’t have it all but you can have snow.
The light snow that softly brushes the ground and wisps in the wind.
The snow perfect for sledding and snow angels and snowball fights.
The miraculous little snowflakes all articulated in detail.
Snow that reddens your nose and cheeks but still treats you well.

You can’t have it all but you can have Christmas.
The holiday that emphasizes joy, giving, and love.
The holiday that lights the faces of children as bright as the tree.
You can’t have it all but you can have Christmas, snow, a cozy blanket, and even a little hot chocolate.
And if you put them all together, you might just have it all.
