Young Fools
The young fools hear of
tales from oversees.
The radios and papers tell of success
in the second war,
miles away from home.
The men gather at the offices, recruiting to protect
their loved ones.
The young boys,
the fools,
join as well,
for love, bravery, and adventure.
One by one,
they sign their souls away and
head to training.
The struggle separates
the weak and the strong, but their spirits stay high
thinking of adventure and revenge.
Revenge of the dead.
Dead from the Pearl.
The fools able enough move to the real fight.
The fight across the seas, on both sides.
The fools are paired with the old,
whom were barely in their twenties.
The war was destructive and devastating.
Misery. Everywhere.
Men and boy alike become
cold,
physically and mentally.
The fools quickly awaken from their
stupidity and
ignorance.
Blood covers the grounds like the dirt of the Earth.
Such foolishness! Such agony! Such perdition!
