Basketball
I step onto the court
Adrenaline pumping
Heart thumping
My face is steel as I face my opponent
I got you, I am thinking, I own you
The crowd is cheering and clapping
My mom and dad are yelling
The crowd goes silent
The ref tosses the ball straight up
My opponent and I jump
I tip the ball to my point guard
She dribbles a few feet, shoots and scores
The crowd roars with excitement
We get back and play some defense
Bailey steals the ball; I am ahead of her, so she chucks me the ball
I dribble down and make a layup
The crowd cheers again
We are down by two with 46 seconds left in the fourth quarter
We steal the ball and Emma scores
The crowd yells with excitement, we yell also
We are tied with 7 seconds left; we get the ball
But the other team steals the ball and score
The game is over; our coach tells us we had a good game
We shake hands with the other team;
Bummed out because we didn't win
I tell the team not to worry
This was one of our best games
