faded
I wipe the tears falling from my eyes, another sad story hung out to dry, a past of pain and regret, carved into my flesh, I'm scared to ask what's next. Echoes of laughter bounce around in my head. This season full of miracles and celebration is just another part of our daily races. The fight to survive is slowly taking the joy from life. Children cry at night not having what they need, while others cry when they don't get what they want. As I close my eyes I forget it all, memories fade in a locked box. I throw the key away to never return.
