Apology
Destruction that I have created
Has stricken you and I, like the lightning bolt in midwinter,
Surprising and yet terrifying.
No beauty can be found in this.
The wait and hurt I inflicted
cannot be hidden in the layers of snow;
I cannot seem to dig us out.
No longer can I hide in them either.
I'd give you a shovel to help break through,
but this would give you an escape.
I do not want you to escape and run like the others.
The cold and bitterness seep into our joints.
With stiffened bodies and emotions we can
No longer move in sync like we used to.
Coldness and trappedness is more appealing to me
Than setting both of us free.
Darkness conquers the rest of the night and
Only leaves room for cold lightning against
the impenetrable wall of clouds.
