It hurts to be happy.
Letting go of your pain
Is like plucking
Shards of glass
From my skin.
Knowing it has to be done,
But wondering;
Would it be easier to
Leave them there?
Bury your pain
In scar tissue?
To let myself
Drag my fingertips
Over your hurt,
Pretending I can still
Take it away?
