Tomorrow is a new day,
One to share and revel in,
Why lament over lost time,
When lessons could be learned;

Such an ugly word,
but it means you live in the past,
Don’t linger in the previous
But talk about it and look back;

Recognize it and accept it,
Learn from it and walk forward,
Reliving and replaying,
Will never lead you onward;

So allow yourself to take a step,
Your feet on one path forward,
Take your time, and lean on others,
But do not ever walk backward.

The author's comments:
This piece was inspired by everyone around me (including myself) who spends so much energy wishing things could be different. I believe we should look back at the past, and though regret is inevitable, we should not live in the past. Thank you for reading.

I understand where you are coming from. Sometimes I feel the same way. Could you read my poem A Pink Watch, Portal, and Perpetual Sea and tell me what you think if you get a chance? Thank you and keep up the good writing and photography!
