Man on the Moon
Life must be good
for the man on the moon.
 We're waiting in line
and day after day you're told
not to hold on to the clouds in the sky.
But the one who's already there
says that life really is good
for the man on the moon.

The house on the street corner
 is missing its picket fence.
Mine is the car in the lot
 with the windows smashed in,
but I still go to work
while the man on the moon
 makes the front page again.

All my coins have been spent
so I fell into the wishing well
to make my dreams come true.
And I can see your face from down here.
You tell me that your life really is good,
 the man on the moon.
