Bonfires
Copper, gold, and chestnut
 Playfully melding together
 Fragile feathers of warmth
 Licking at charred wood
 Soft and frail
 Yet rough and raging
 Plumes of charcoal
 Race to the sky
 Easily destroys
 Yet easily destroyed
 Faces aglow
 Heat emanating
 Sticky puffs of white
 Melt in the colors
 Sandwiched between graham
 And soft sweet umber
 A delicious little treat
 Made just for summer
 Sitting in the moonlight
 Hooded against frigid air
Pieces of light scattered in the sky
 Aromatic smoke surrounds
