The Color

There are many colors that I see
But black is the main color in my family
I love the way the color stands out like a slave living in the Deep South
I've watched this color travel like leaves
This sweet black color which belongs to me

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem because I begin to think about my ancestor during their time of slavery.

This is really good. This is easy to understand, and you feel it. Good work keep writing!

This is really good, I like how it's short and simple- but really powerful conveyed through only few words. You're an excellent writer. Keep it up :)
