Trapped
Trapped

Since we broke up I’ve felt trapped

Thrown into this cage and withering away

The love in my heart is the only thing

That gets me near close as happy

As I once was when I was with you

The storm that destroyed our relationship

 That merciless and desolate beast

Has torn our friendship to this point as well

It seems we are strangers now

I don’t know why that is

Considering that not talking to you

Has left my heart scarred and weak

But this love lives on, giving me hope

 I will hold you again

Maybe just as friends, but even then

To have you back in my life?

That would be a blessing unto me

You’re moving soon; time is running out

The cage has held me prisoner

It has drained my soul, dulled my eyes

Self pity kept me under guard

 Until now
