The Walls Are Dusty Too
there's a little bedroom in the corner of my mind
I've made it just for you
The walls are built from vines
and there's a spot to place your muddy shoes
the candles' wisps smell of rainy days
and cafe's that bake croissants
and all the books are titled after our memories
so, you can see all of them at once
there's a little bed in the corner
and a frog tank on the nightstand
two little frogs doze away in my dreams
while they wait for you to come back
I look after this bedroom I've made for you
decorated in periwinkle and white
It's been so long since you've drawn back the curtains
please come let in some light

I've been writing for six years, and without fail my favorite pieces are those I write about the people I cherish. This was written to a longtime friend of mine, Sydney.
