The Blue Hours

The civil twilights

The polar opposites

Mother natures good mornings and evenings are

balanced in blankets of blue,

Introducing us to new beginnings

Navy greets us twice a day

The serene beauty outshone by its greedy nemeses,

Sunrise and Sunset

We open and close our eyes alongside nature,

and the blue hours greet us once again

It is the purest form of peace,

Preparing us for our bedtime while also serving its purpose

as a natural wake up call

The trees are nothing but silhouettes preparing for

their day during the blue hours

The purpose of the second blue hour is to shield

the stars before total darkness takes over

They appear one by one, allowing the

navy sheet to slowly fade away

The blue hour is outshone yet again

The author's comments:

I wrote this piece because I was inspired by a specific time of the day that I didn't even know the name of. I also enjoy times throughout the day that involve peace and quiet.
