Hues
The rhythmic cadence of a child skipping
New shoes, no tests, all homework done
The mind clear like the paved sidewalk
Strewn with the colorful autumn leaves of life
The path unknown is perhaps the riskiest,
The path repeated is the most drab
Both yield excitement in their own ways
One through surprise, the latter through appreciation
What is left to do after exploring once
Some may say there is no more exhilaration
However, they overlook that like walking the path to school,
It is best to pause and breathe the unnoticed piney scent of life.
