I am human
My life is politicized
Whether or not my life matters is up for debate
Yet when I speak my voice is not heard
My words are drowned out my words are blurred
To them I’m a talking point in political debates
To them I’m simply a number
I’m only a statistic used to debunk opponents
They have forgotten I am a human with many components
I am my skin color and so much more
I am a guitarist
I am a writer
I am an athlete
I am not just a stat on a paper I’m a human with a heartbeat
My life matters
My human life matters
My skin is beautiful
But they don’t care as usual
