change

i grimace as black hair turns white,
love turns to hate,
and life becomes death.
change:
is it inevitable?
the hubris of mankind says no,
but the infinite universe is so much wiser.
skies fold in on themselves,
and shooting stars always hit the merciless ground.
but,
i once met a stray planet wandering aimlessly through the starry night sky.
when i asked it,
‘are you afraid of change?’
it told me to never fear,
for change is just the way of the world.
