It's extraordinary

How hard I fell for him

It's funny

That a week ago I was writing about falling in love

And now i'm writing about trying to pick myself up.

You see, I didn't fall like a pebble, I rather fell like a leaf.

Slowly reaching the point where I wasn't falling anymore. Just in. In love.

My leaf had dwindled into a puddle, and it had no way of getting out.

Now you walk without me and I keep stumbling over my feet.

Now i'm not falling in love, i'm only falling apart.

I havent learned how to get over you yet.

It was stupid to think i'd never have to.

I feel my hand on top of my other and remember how yours felt.

So now i'm tying my shoelaces and standing up.

I'm bucking my heels

So I can dance with myself.

And i'm learning to forget you, because you never learned my language.

A poem about my recent breakup. Sad, but empowering.
