A Mysterious Treat

I'm sweet, and savory
You'll need a cup of milk
A delicacy of deliciousness
That makes your mouth water
A few people hate me
Others have to much
Some will however
Never even touch
Often given to soldiers
To help them with the battle
Not a medicine however
I sometimes involve dairy cattle
Sometimes I am bitter
And make children gag
Adults however don't mind
And they are glad
So what am I?
You should know
I'm the delicacy of deliciousness
I'm hot in the snow
