The Trapped Snow Bird
The white blanket swallows the land
With its pale fingers embracing life.
The blazing flare from the sky is now gone,
with flakes covering each pine tree.
She gazed at the bluebird,
perched on the glazed tree.
She listened to the low-pitch whistle
that was carried out with the whirling wind.
She stared at its delicate sapphire body.
As it raised its blue feathers, reaching for the sky,
It revealed its unique golden stomach
as it steadily faded into chalky white.
Though the bird is still humming,
it's shadow is screaming in pain.
Without light in its soul,
it can never be the same.

Sometimes people seem really trapped. This peice dipicts a girl looking at this bird and seeing herself in the bird.
When I was writing this peom, I thought of... Why is the girl seeing the bird and how is she relating to the bird? What is the atmosphere and setting of the story or poem?
