EVERGREEN
Caleb Williamson

Evergreen is my heaven
My haven and my love
Where the grass grows crisp and long
And the river cools my soul
The birds chirp, the deer dash
The place of freedom and peace

This piece of nature grants my peace
As if I am in Heaven
My siblings and I have room to play and dash
My family envelops me with love
The cabin stands as strong as my soul
Time is winding down; I don’t have long

I don’t wish to leave; and when I do, I will long
To come again, for it rests my soul
This place has a sense of peace
Stronger than that of the heavens
The trees themselves show care and love
Even the inhabitants of the land feel no need to dash

My family has to dash
Places to go, people to see; but it won’t be long
Until we come again to this land of love
Every time we arrive we see the works of the Prince of Peace
He comes down from Heaven
To cleanse my soul

In my soul
I want to dash
Into the holy water of Heaven
As it travels into the distance, so long
Never ending the flow of peace
I can feel every current; filled with love

This place I love
Memories of it will rest in my soul
Memories of freedom and peace
Never will these memories dash
From my mind; they will stay clear and long
This place will always be my heaven

Visions of this place will dash
In my mind; while years will come along
Until I leave to Heaven
