The Word Soldier

May 14, 2008
By Ariel Pimentel, Riverside, RI

My lips
Purge the desecration
Resist enticing vows
My teeth
Bite back the lies
Masticate empty text
My demons
Refute assault
Charge renewed
My tongue
Renders them mute
Stifling their protest
My words
Slice like swords
On their throats
My sentences
Deliver consequence
Their silent offence
My voice
Drips with venom
The appeal of disdain
My scream
Severs the oppression
They dissolve
Slow retreat
