In the fiction book,Wonder,by R.J. Palacio, the main character, August or Auggie Pullman lives in New York with his parents, sister, and his dog. He decides to go to school for the first time but the only problem is he has a facial deformity. This being said, it will be hard for him to make friends. I can relate to August because I was born deaf. I remember going into kindergarten and people thinking I was weird because I had a big implant on the side of my head. It was hard for me to make friends at the beginning but now I have a bunch of friends who don't care about my uniqueness, just like Auggie. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes books about hardships and friends understanding each other. I would also recommend this book to anyone else who has a disability.
