" Art is beauty everlasting "

I counted 14 candles on my birthday cake

I was at such a young, naive age

Dancers tempted me with dreams of success

A young anxious heart knew nothing of rest

She looked so stunning in that red dress

My heart was aimed at the morning

But my head thought only of the sunset

16 years of age and I thought I had it all

Young in love, and nothing could go wrong

But new love blossomed under an old wise tree

I was blind sided by something I couldn't see

And she kissed me as she held my hands

She became my lover and I was her only man

18 years went by so fast

And nothing I cherished would last

In my heart these feelings never die

But it left me with questions asking why

I trusted every dream I used to have

But the happiness and heartbreak, did pass

Almost 20 and where would I go

Where does my heart have to go?

Another road to travel and places to be

A yearning hope still burns inside of me

20 years have passed and my heart still holds strong

Like teenage love lost in a song
