He Saw Life Leave

He saw life leave that day
He saw it swiftly fade away
He saw it lift from a body, up
He saw heavy breathing come to a stop
He saw a passing, a leaving soul
He saw the forming of a missing role
He saw a death and witnessed departure
He saw in that day that there would be no other
He saw that it ended so quickly and fast
He saw that all stops even in a world so vast
He saw that when God decided time was up, that was it
He saw a life leave, but he’d never quit
