Deceased
They say the trees will stand
so here I am,
trying hard to believe them,
while watching from my window
and naturally the leaves fall off
but I, forced to keep watching
by maintaining a great deal of strength
see the whirlpool of wind whisk the branches right off,
no longer connected to roots and slowly dying,
“Some trees die, never to revive,”
as they wither away, never to be seen again.
