The Past is Perfect (But the Future Could Be Too)
The heat came in and my emotions came out
My whole entire sense of being feels like it has changed
With the change of weather
The humidity sticks to me and slows me down
The warm uncomfortability that it provides
Takes me back to a dewy florida night of the past
And that's when I realize nothing will last
The future is far too close
Soon it will be that everything goes
Any regret I have in my history
Is now permanently confined in time
No longer able to be truly resolved the way I want
I wish I played my past differently
I wish I had different memories
I wish thinking about it didn't make me want to cry and punch a wall
I wish…
I wish that I didn’t feel this way
And I wish I didn’t have to wish for this
I want to look forward
But the future is forged in the past
So even looking towards the next day
I am really looking back
My only hope is that I learn from what has happened
So I never feel this way again

I was practically obsessed with this one girl for awhile and I later found out she had a thing for me the whole time...only after she got a boyfriend. I was all sad so I decided to listen to a song she had reccomended to me a while ago. I had heard the song before but this time around I really listened to it and I noticed how much it was talking about love and for some reason I had the feeling that she had initially told me to listen to it as a way of saying "hey, stupid, take the hint that I like you." In the end it all worked out because she ended up being really mean to me later so I guess I dodged a bullet? Yeah whatever helps me sleep at night ya know?
