Uncertain World
A hush fell over the world,
Covering everyone in a blanket of silence.
The serenity is welcomed.
A wave of fear washes us away.
After years of hair pulling nail-biting terror,
The stress overwhelms us,
Until we become certain of one thing
This anxiety will never end.
Hundreds of years we worked hard,
We always did it the right way.
We were told we were free,
But are we ever truly free?
Our work went to waste
All we did was worry.
We worried about dying but also living,
Till we clung to any glimmer of stability
All we know is that we don’t know anything
Our worlds collide but never touch
Although struggles and pains are the same,
In our world where nothing is certain.
