Easy-over eggs, hash browns,
sausage and some plain oatmeal for me.
Fluffy scrambled eggs, crunchy toast
with vibrant green avocado spread evenly
.A side of her favorite fruit some bananas, strawberries,
raspberries and kiwis.
Her colorful plate reflected her stunning personality.
We shared a plate of bacon. But not just any bacon.
Our favorite bacon.
We could smell the trail of Honey smoked bacon.
I wanted to follow the trail like a dog chasing his tail.
A tall glass of cranberry for her and a wide glass of orange juice for me.
I look into her eyes well she stuffs her face with eggs and avocado.
She notices. Please kiss me
Without hesitation she reaches across the table.
Within seconds her soft lips are pressed against mine.
My body melts.
Straight liquid, my body slips through the chair
A pile of goop sits in the middle of sunny side cafe.
Seconds go by, our lips still pressed against one another.
I pull back. Licking the avocado off my lips.
Mhmm thanks.She smiles.
An explosion in my mind. Confidence that stretches for miles.
No fear, no regret. She is who she is.
I love her most for that.
I fear.
We will grow apart.
I cherish the time I have with her.
For she will not live forever No one does
I question how can I bring her close to me
I try so many different activities
We love to hike But she never wants to
We love to swim But she doesn’t want to
She loves chick flicks but she isn’t in the mood for movies.
We argue She yells at me I don’t understand.
She won’t stop I leave I can’t take it.
A long windy and narrow road. Pitch black.
A stormy night l slippery dangerous roads
Tears falling down my eyes.
I don’t know what she wants.
I love her so much but she is full of anger.
The nile is flooding. The road are getting blurry.
Does she even love me anymore?
We have been through too much to give up now?
2 years of nothing? How can I fix this?
I notice a light up ahead.
Sweat running down my forehead, I speed up without realizing it.
I went around the corner too fast…
I lost control of the vehicle.
I close my eyes, scared to find out what will happen next.
The car stops.
My eyes peak open. A light shines through my eyes blinding me. Jesus.
I’m not ready, my baby girl needs me.
My eyes focus in, aliens?
No not at all. A Taco Bell sign.
Are you serious. A damn Taco Bell sign God!
This is what you give me.
I order some tacos for her and I.
mine are plain and hers are full of toppings.
I got some quesadillas
mine just cheese
her with steak and cheese, sour cream and lettuce.
I got she a strawberry skittles Baja blast and a water for me.
I almost died, but my baby girl needs me.
I open the door and like kids on christmas morning
Not a word until she is Halfway through.
My hands begin to sweat, not a single word.
While drinking her skittles slushy she stops mid sip.
We lock eyes, without hesitation
she leans over and gives me a kiss.
How did you know?
Food is a girl's best friend.
I'm happy you’re alive though
