happy place

a fresh crisp breeze
brushes by calm water
just me and my reflection
alone on the soft dock
not another person in sight
i splash my feet
in the refreshing water
watching my reflection ripple away
my brain wanders
thinking about the best
and the worst
accompanied by a desolate and pure happiness
and after only a short time
i am no longer alone
the cool water splashing my feet
bringing me back to the real world
so i wait for tomorrow
and find myself here again
i close my eyes
and dream of the days to come
