The Pain
It was like a knife had suddenly found my heart after playing with it for months.
It was like that kindled hope so falsely given to me, had finally couldn’t find enough wood to rekindle itself any longer.
It was as if all those long exhausting nights spent taking care of you- never payed off
It was as if my heart was being run over by Death himself
It was like God himself was punishing me for all my wrong doings by taking away what I loved so dearly
It was like a wrecking ball had come crashing in on my heart and it was never put together quite like right
Nothing has ever been as painful as losing you to the most treacherous disease-cancer

What inspired this poem is the pain I felt when I lost my father to cancer.
