Man Of The Smoke
I walked in the bar
To see the only M A N I’ve ever loved
Instantly the clinking of drinks
Makes its way to my brain
This is the last place I want to be
I see his bright eyes and suddenly smile
Oh the eyes of a person can truly capture you
They are the window to our souls
Each with a different story
Each with a different purpose
A D.R.E.A.M if you will
However I still couldn’t grasp his
He was a very lyrical man
With every intention of being the best
His DESIRE to succeed was so overwhelming
You couldn’t help but HONOR the passion he had within
I made my way to him and lightly pressed
My C o L d hand to his as he gave me a gEnTle grin
He continued to smile as he raised his cigarette
To his dull lips and lightly blew the hot smoke in my face
O
If you look past the F G in the bar
FOrget the drunken words being said
And listen to the fast pace of my heart
You would notice all the misery in my eyes slowly fading
As he grabbed my hand and softly rubbed his thumb
Over my small butterfly tattoo as we walked out the bar
