What did I do?

To deserve this purple and yellow cord,

Slithering between the arm and side of my left shoulder,

Signifying that I am an important part of the whole,

That I am to lead said whole

What did I do?

To deserve the acquaintances,

Who I've met throughout my life,

Picking me up when I was down, making me laugh,

Many of which I've known all my life.

What did I do?

To deserve those I call my family.

Those who provide me with the basic human needs,

Food, water, shelter, and clothing.

Those who have taken care of me from day one. 

Whay did I do?

To deserve you.

The smiling face that when seen causes mine to engulf itself in its own smile.

The person who would never do a thing wrong to those she cares about, and to whom I return the favor.

The sight, thought, and feeling of love.

The answer,

Is nothing.

Is that I'm not special.

Is I have done nothing.
