Everyday Is Halloween
Everyday is Halloween and every person is in a costume
Now look don’t take it personally, I’m not calling you ugly or anything
Even if you may not be the most visually appealing person
No
This has nothing to do with appearance
This
Goes way deeper than the physical
Everyday is Halloween because we walk around with mask concealing our identity
Some more convincing than others, but still mask all the same
But I can’t really limit this to mask can I
The disguises made by the people are sometimes more complex than just a mask
Maybe fangs
A third eye
Basically anything to change themselves into something or someone they’re not
Every
Day
Is Halloween because some people even turn it into a game
A game of deceiving people into truly believing the costume is real
Only to reveal themselves as different and make you look stupid in return
Everyday is Halloween because some people use their false identities to hide who they truly are and pretend to be someone they wish to be
Or even
Someone they used to be
Every
Single
Day
Is Halloween because the masquerades we put on have become so normal that no one even questions the faking anymore
It’s almost expected to have a mask, a costume, a disguise, a FAKE identity
Everyday is halloween because no one wants to move on to another holiday in fear of having to get rid of the costumes they built
The costumes they bought
The costumes they borrowed
Fighting to deny the truth that not only are they lying to others
But they are lying to themselves
Denying the fact so much that the costumes start to become real to them
The fangs
The third erd
Even the white bed sheet slumped over their heads with holes “expertly cut” to see out of said holes actually becomes a truth to them
Everyday Is Halloween
And I’m still going door to door saying
Trick or Treat

I decided to write this poem to rant about my problem with today's society when it comes to communication with each other and the secrets we have, but to also state that while they are problems it's something that everyone deals with in some way or another.
